I never saw that in Maui. In Oahu during the week the North Shore and Lanakai are deserted.

Stayed in Lahaina but drove most if the island. Next time I will stay in Waimea.

February is the cheapest time, sometimes roundtrip in the high $300's. Rental cars are cheap and you can stay anywhere for under $200 a night. Food is expensive though.
