Here in NC, as long as you pass the background check by the county sheriff and get your purchase permit, you can walk out with gun at time of purchase.

Same in VA.It just took a hour to get it done.Maybe they were checking WW for references.LOL

We just got a Remington 870 youth 20 gauge for the home.It's a gun both Shirley and i can handle easily.

Ive got a single-shot 410 for my critter-killer, but keep a 38 cowboy-killer on hand. I looked at some 9's and 40 cals at the gun show last weekend, but it was super busy, so the dealers wernt dealing

The particular guns i like are a Kimber 45acp Crimson Carry II and a Springfield Arms 1911 9MM EMP.

I will probably be looking at 9mm 40 cal and 45 cal guns though.Accuracy is most important to me.I need to see how much recoil they have.

Shirley will probably get a 9mm or smaller caliber gun.She wants to try a Baretta Tomcat.I think it's a 32 cal.

It was the first pistols we shot.I think they wanted to break us in easy.

My son knows of an inline retail source that beats the local retail gun shop prices, ships for free to a local place here and then they do a transfer for $25.00. Not sure if VA allows this, but i'll get that info for you. If you can, then check them out once you know what you want.

Now only 2 concealed weapons away from not being a victim.

I hope that helps you feel safer. I went through that after someone kicked our door in at 2am, there was not enough time to get the gun out as I kept it locked up due to the kids. I also have a Concealed permit but don't carry it anymore. In the end it didn't make me feel safer.

That way we should be prepared for any situation. With regular target practice and strong and weak hand shooting exercises

Yeah, its a big handle. I will probably settle for something that fits the wifes hands better.
