Another one that does it myself. I think there are many on here that do. That was one of the first things I learned on this site and what made this site so awesome.

Cost wise I have seen $300 - $600. Then some of them expect you to bring it back to them to summerize for about the same cost but typically a little cheaper. There is the thought that if they do it then they are liable. On the other hand I know that some don't do what they say they do. I would rather do it knowing what I have done and how it was done. You also become a lot more familiar with your boat.

My is that it is not that hard to do it yourself.

I think I will let them do it this year and try it myself next year. I am sure after many years of building show cars I can handle a boat winterize.

Another DIY'er here. I like doing it myself because I take everything out of the boat, wash it and put it in the basement and then clean the boat top to bottom. I then let it sit in storage with the lockers open and the cushions up for a week so it can completely dry out and then button it all back up.

Do most of you guys do your own winterizing? If not...what are you paying the dealers in your areas??

I started doing my own winterization and annual service last year, after having the dealer(s) do it previously. They were pretty pricey (if I recall, it was around $700 with the original dealer, and then something like $900 with the guy that bought the dealership). Plus, I am pretty sure that not everything was actually done.

By doing it myself, I learned more about my boat, know that everything is done, and save money.
