I agree with that. Some billionaire team owner wants the fans to pay for a stadium for their team to play in. Total crap! You want to sell tickets and make money, pay for it yourself!

I was forced to join. They didn't just spring it on me. I knew ahead of time and it was almost a deal breaker. I got most everything I wanted and the last thing I wanted was a classification that didn't "require" the union. That was not up for discussion because it is a state law for my employer.Originally posted by Timmy! View PostHmmm...they just spring that on ya after you start?Waiting for another good one!

But the argument is (and I agree to some extent) the team brings a ton of revenue to the city just for being here. So the city needs to work with them. It's ugly here though, that negotiation.Originally posted by Timmy! View PostI agree with that. Some billionaire team owner wants the fans to pay for a stadium for their team to play in. Total crap! My wife is a teacher and it's optional. Only reason she is in it is because the amount of liability insurance coverage they give her for the price of the dues is cheaper than she could buy it for on her own and they are the front line if there is a conflict with a child/parent lawsuit for some weird reason.

Yep.Originally posted by Timmy! View PostGuess that goes back to free choice of working somewhere else...
I could be wrong, I do not study unions, but some professions depending on the cities there are not many options. If you don't join a union you will not get jobs. i.e. plumbing, electrical, etc..

I think that came from, can't recall his name the Browns / Ravens owner, moving and forcing other cities to help out or risk losing teams rather real or not.Originally posted by Timmy!
