The rz2 seemed like a dog when on plane and putting the hammer down...my 320 in the old bu seemed to have more "power" feeling when putting it down from a cruising speed. Could it be the prop diff?

What was the taps setting at? Any ballast? My RZ2 with the 343 seems plenty quick empty at cruise speed. Taps does have a little bit of influence, maybe try a lower taps setting or a higher setting, it changes the entry angle of the bow quite a bit. I'm judging the pretty quick comparison based on my old bayliner and my friends 23' crown line. Both boats have less power but higher top speed.
