Got a wakeboarding set in before work. We were the first Boat the lake and the water was straight butter!

We used ~8gph with the raptor 400 and 3500+lbs of ballast plus wedge. We ran premium. We are at altitude though so that hurt A LOT! It took a long time to plane which greatly increased fuel consumption.

That's not too bad then. I was hoping that the extra HP would help consumption to some extent... I think it does.

I think the big engine helps. Your engine is even bigger so that combined with the low altitude should help. If your son doesn't like the lip the wedge provides you will be doing much better.

I have to talk to Josh and find out the weight they ran for the Jr. classes last year in this boat. I think just 1000lbs and no wedge. That'll be perfect for my fuel bill for a while
