I think it is best to have Taps all the way up to minimize the fluid loss.Originally posted by mls6722 View PostI just removed mine today - it was easy.
The pump is mounted to the bracket by 4 screws on the vertical plate. You just loosen the screws, don't need to take them out. I happen to have the mount right here, so here's a pic.

besides the screws, there is one electrical connector and the hydraulic line. I would put a plastic garbage bag under the pump before disconnecting the line (there are two nuts (7/16 on the pump body and 1/2 on the hyd line). Hold the 7/16 and loosen the 1/2. I stuffed the loose end of hyd line in a plastic bag with paper towel and taped it around the line to minimize leaks.

oops, I call that the actuator. I have not removed that part. I am sure it is not too bad, but there is sealant around where the hydraulic hose goes through the transom. Don't know what it is, how hard to remove and replace.Originally posted by majestic View PostI may have used the wrong terminology. The meant the piece on the outside of the boat that moves the plate up and down.

Yeah that's the answer I'm looking for. AJ did it but I haven't seen him around in a bit.Originally posted by mls6722 View Postoops, I call that the actuator. I have not removed that part. I just had mine replaced.... Three screws, and a WHOLE lot of adhesive.Originally posted by mls6722 View Postoops, I call that the actuator. I have not removed that part. They had to replace the whole taps because tige doesn't just sell the seal. So I got a whole new unit installed last week.

Now that I read it, I'll tell you, I can not see the elbow or nipple inside the transom. My hydraulic line disappears into sealant.Originally posted by mls6722 View Post
