Reading that distroyed engine thread on WW is interesting, and surprising to hear from a toyota dealer. I hope that guy gets a good lawyer, a bad mechanic cost me $2,000 and 2 months off the water in my old boat.

He talked to the tech who did the work, he put the wrong size bolts in the water pump and got into the timing bearings i think. The service manager didn't know he talked to the tech and tried to dismiss it as no big deal. The truck owner is asking for some type of warranty on the engine and transmission for about a year to make sure they didn't screw anything else up, seems they might have removed the engine from the transmission wrong too. Last he spoke with the dealer the engine was making a weird noise when they road tested it and they need it for another 2 days.
