I just opened up the floor of the boat and noticed they ran the steering cable above the fuel tank. Maybe mine will last a little longer than others

Mine was on top originally too. I think it is either the older boats where that is a concern. From what I understand the part where the water gets in and starts causing problems is back by the rudder box.

We have voles, rabbits, and ground squirrels that make a mess of my yard.

My son was determined to shoot a ground squirrel. I was gone on one of my business trips and found out he shot one. It didn't kill it rather made it scream. That freaked him out. They had to use a shovel to finish off. He said he won't shoot one again.

Come spring that might be a different story.

Well, mine was above the tank, too. But it needed to be replaced after 3-1/2 years of use.

Hoping that their newer "extreme" cable lasts a little longer. The replacement is a breeze (now), but I'd rather spend the $ on other things.

I started to wonder if by the end of last year, after a summer of usage, it was not as loose as it was when I put it in. I will know more when I put it in the water in the spring.

Denver needed a storm

As I was headed out this morning I could look out over Denver and it was full of Smog. It looked like it lingered out to the plains. Storm should clear it out.
