I've been hanging around in expedition and F-150 owners forums, I guess they call the expedition they Expy for short.

I have been debating if I should order the air leveling suspension on the Expy. I think I will skip it and install my own airbag helper springs if needed.

Last year I thought I'd be keeping the 4runner for 10 years, then I get one little text from my wife and BANG! Truck shopping again

The Expedition is said to get a refresh for 2012 or 2013. Also, because of the success with the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 in the F150, Ford said that the same engine could make its way into the Expedition. And to make things even sweeter, the Expedition’s “Triton” V8 will be phased out and replaced by the epic new 5.0L V8 that first debuted in the Mustang

I got that off a internet article you cannot find anything about the redesign or Ecoboost going in a Expedition from Ford.
All I know is that complete redesigns usually come the year after I purchase

I've read several articles that say about the same thing. The only thing for sure is that the Navigator is getting the ecoboost, and everyone infers that the Expy will get the same.

TWith the inlaws in town I took my wife around to test drive the Tahoe, Armada, Durango and Expedition. We liked the expedition best but now we are waiting to see if it will get the Ecoboost.

A friend of mine has a Sequoia and it's nice but expensive, big footprint and has the same tow rating as the 4runner. Overpriced and underperforming SUV, more like a tall minivan that can tow 7200.

Auburn - if it makes you feel any better, while I grew up with a soft spot for Bama (I was born in Montgomery), my dad has a degree from Auburn and pulls for them for some reason.

Armada has a strong engine, nice interior, just a little longer than the Expy and a few grand more with worse fuel economy and a few hundred pounds less towing capacity.

Our Armada has been OK. Generally like it for most of our use. Fuel economy sucks. While the tow rating is 9000 lbs, it's not very fun to tow the RZ4 with it. If we had to tow very much, I would go with something else.

The Tahoe was a disappointment. The third row seats were the only reason we are looking at getting something bigger and this had the smallest. Very little legroom in the third row, and my MOL is very small. The third row seats also don't lay flat so if I need to pick something up at the hardware store, I need to completely remove them. And my wife did not like the colum gear selector, she likes the gear shift on the floor between the front seats. It was also more money than the Expy but it does have better fuel economy due to the cylinder deactivation feature.

The dodge Durango was the suprise contender, it has a very roomy third row seat and a very stong hemi engine. It's just a few inches longer than the 4runner but offers a few hundred pounds more towing. Since I have my wife liking the idea of something bigger, we are passing on the dodge, but it drove very nice and has lots of great features.
