Im lost without the PW thread!!!!

So, I really wonder if the dealer replaced the impeller last year. I have paid for full annual service each of the past three years. Last year, I remember whining because they charged me about 300% markup on the impeller. And yet look at the condition of the old one I removed:





I felt inside the housing, and I couldn't feel any roughness or gouges. Sure seems to be an awfully chewed up impeller if it was actually only one year old

Dang dude, thats the original impeller i bet. Thats looks like hell. The one I did on the Chap has never been changed and its an 07 with 200+ hrs.

I was pretty worried for a while. I finally realized that I had to remove the belt to get to the impeller. I did a quick search and found a thread by WA in which he was complaining about how hard it was (that was the one that his wife fixed ).

So, I started with great concern. I tried to loosen the tensioner, but it wasn't doing a damn thing. Finally, I realized that I had to crank on the tensioner like I was trying to tighten it on more, and that motion de-tensions the belt. Easy as pie after that

Yours should be a piece of cake. As long as you don't wrench on the bolts and break them.

My BIL said he never changed his on his 2000 Response but then again it was a Bu

My buddy has never changed his '84 Ski Nautique. He checks it but it has always been good. And he doesn't store it in KY or Vaseline.

Yours is a Marine power, right? If so, the impeller is directly driven off the crankshaft.

Nope. But I will probably need another pair of hands for the steering cable tomorrow.

There are a number of other things I would like to have her help with...
