I looked at the diesel Touareg and the Cayenne just for fun when I got my 4Runner, very nice for a daily driver and they can tow too. Thats when I was living in TX and I only had to tow .25-3 miles for the boat launches. I would love to drive the Cayenne as my daily driver and get my wife a mini-van...Originally posted by majestic View PostMy Wife wants to look at an Audi Q7 tomorrow. 225 hp Diesel with a 6600 pound tow rating, and air ride suspension. Either she came into some money and didnt tell me or found a hell of a lease special.

I just priced out the TDI VW and Audi, they both share the same engine and 4wd system. The VW with basic options and towing package is $47,415 msrp. The Audi clocks in at $53,725. They both have the same towing capacity, the Audi just has 19" wheels vs 18" wheels and probably a few other goodies, but the VW is nicely loaded. VW is a good cheaper way to get into and Audi these days, thanks to sharing their platforms with each other.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

The VW is very nice as well. I have a friend that tows his 23lsv across the Snoqualmie pass with one regularly and says it has no problem. The VW is missing the 3rd row seating which is a deal killer for me. We have convinced ourselves to go back to leasing. My wife doesn't put on huge amounts of mileage every year and I tend to get rid of vehicles when the warranties run out anyway.Originally posted by Ewok View PostI just priced out the TDI VW and Audi, they both share the same engine and 4wd system.
