The Shure will be smaller. Myself I like the over the ear for traveling. My ears start to hurt after a while with the inner ear. However, I have not tried any of the new ones. To me after comfort is that they are noise cancelling. Headphones are one of the few items that I have found that spending several hundred dollars was well worth it. It also depends on how much you travel. I also like earphones that have a separate cable, one that disconnects from the earphones.

Best Buy has the noise making device, simulates an airplane, for the Bose. I would try the others standing in front of it as well.

I have a set of philips noise canceling headphone shn9500 that fold down into a semi hard case and fit in my laptop bag. I don't leave home with out them.
