It is for towing the boat and taking the whole family. If I didn't need to tow I would be getting a minivan. I don't need to tow the gn just the boat. Obviously, I wouldn't have even considered any of the ones I mentioned if I needed to tow the gn.

That Q7 with the TDI can tow 6600lbs... A boat will be pretty taxing on it I suppose but shouldn't be overrated.

Well, I think it's rated for 9000 lbs towing capacity with the factory tow package...but I can't imagine pulling that much. Just pulling our RZ4 the short wheelbase isn't super stable, the mileage with the gasser bites, and the tranny temp gets right up toward the max while pulling over the hills to Echo when we launch there for the reunion.

But, it hasn't blown up yet.

Actually, we don't have it anymore. They had to share, and they used & abused it for several years. One of the few toys that we probably really got our money's worth out of.

But, after years of fun, it finally died a while back.

Five could always just duct tape some flashlights around for courtesy lights

The expedition was rated at 8800 lbs. The new one is rated at 12,300 if I recall correctly.

I don't like coming close to my max tow on vehicles and the Expedition didn't have enough torq to do what I think should do. Don't get me wrong, the expedition worked good but not the ideal tow vehicle that you would want on long hauls.

AJ, great looking rig and good job on making those mod's. The 6's can be a good vehicle from what I hear if the mod's were done quickly and the recalls were done also.
