I still can't figure out if you are looking for a vehicle to transport or for towing your boat/GN Trailer also.

If you're just looking to transport 6 people, I'm voting for the Audi Q7 with the TDI!
I just bought my wife a 2011 VW Jetta with the TDI and it gets 48MPG!

I've seen some threads on WW where people are towing with that Audi and the Touareg with good results.

Thanks. It took me awhile to find what I wanted with the mileage that I thought would be reasonable.

I did buy it with 122,000 miles and was used as a work truck. It didn't look like it was towing anything but the bed of the truck was beat to he||. The dealership put a bed cover on it and hid the issues with the bed. IMO, I don't care what the bed looked like. It was the engine I wanted, the correct size truck that I wanted, and leather seating.

But, it was definitely taken care of well by the original owner.

It came with the 4" MadDog exhaust and a K&N performance air filter. The shocks are Rancho's or Fox and the lift was a leaf spring lift not the block lift.

crap, really? Those camper shells are a huge ripoff in my opinion. I would NEVER buy one new.

It is for towing the boat and taking the whole family. If I didn't need to tow I would be getting a minivan. I don't need to tow the gn just the boat. Obviously, I wouldn't have even considered any of the ones I mentioned if I needed to tow the gn.

Mine seems to work OK, but I only have to tow about 15 miles to the usual launch. I don't think I would like to haul long distances. Not to mention the mileage really sucks!
