No chit! I was 3.5 hours from home and the alt on my work van took a crap! I drove all the way home, 190 miles, on the starting battery and my house battery! Talk about an F'n miracleOriginally posted by thtrog View Postwrapping up the day...it's been another Monday!!!

One of the first cars I drove was a 79 Celica that had a bad alternator. I kept an old spare battery in the hatchback. I would have to switch them out and charge the dead on then stick it in the hatchback to wait its turn.Originally posted by chpthril View PostNo chit! I did that once in a bronco, I was fine until it got dark. Made it 380 miles outta 400. Could not find a alternator on the way home (Sunday) so I bought a extra batteryOriginally posted by chpthril View PostNo chit! I was 3.5 hours from home and the alt on my work van took a crap! I pulled in between two semis after it got dark and rode between them till I ran outta juice

Yep, and its powering a 1500W inverter that runs my lap top, printer, light, soldering iron, drop light and fan. Just like a boat, I use an ACR to combine it with the starting battery.Originally posted by dingleberry View PostYou have a house batt in your work van?
