seriously though, shorts are not easy to find. You can disconnect everything from the tailights forward testing each time you perform a disconnect.

Probably a horribly inefficient way to go about it though and I am certian a smart person will be along to help you out.

I wedged a small screwdriver handle into the tongue to prevent it from applying the brakes and got it backed up.

Slip a nickel into the backup lockout slot...much easier.
