I'm sure you're right, they've been out there a long time...just not on a hull with so much hook. I was out on Tige a few years back that the TAPS was stuck and it was a pain in the azz.

I thought the same thing! I wonder if there is less hook. Otherwise the plate was perhaps set to minimize porpoising at a given cruising speed?
