I've not had any reception issues but I've been using a bumper from day one.

Ive got a case... I took it off and held it every way I could think of. I even used two hands and covered as much of the antenna as I could and It never dropped off 5 bars

yes and no. That is part of the issue, but there is an issue. If you go and actully hold the entire bottom of the phone with both hands I can make mine go away. it takes a minute but it happens. Or if you just hold your fingers on the black parts on the bottom it works too, it's predominately a lefty's problem. I am a lefty now and I too don't have any issues. I get dropped calls, but it is no more then with my 3g. When I take my 4 to my friends office with a 3gs, he has 1 singal and can't get 3g, yet I'm full and have 3g, so I think it's better then the older versions.

I'm going to pop in here real quick. My take on the iPhone thing, everyone I know has a case for it and could care less. The "media" (blogs) are just ripping it over and over. The consumer has pretty much voiced their opinion and KEEPS buying the thing knowing about the issue. But, I'm guessing the free bumper cover would be cheaper for them then a recall so that will be what you'll hear tomorrow.

I didn't get a case, yet. but don't have an issue either. The media is just ripping it cuz Apple isn't openly admiting fault. If they would just open admit fault it would go away.

I think that was BS about how it calculates...I recall that consumer reports showed there is a reception issue...not a signal calculation issue.

I agree. Those bumpers probably cost them $5 (just guessing) which is a lot cheaper than a recall.
