Easy fix to never worry about staining your deck...concrete.

I thought about that today, The first thing I'm doing to that new house is taking a chain saw to that deck and pouring cement

#1 - it is concrete, not cement. Cement is the gray powder that is one component of concrete.

#2 - if you are pouring it, you added way too much water. You should place it, not pour it.

I've always loved the manufacturer names for the two most common concrete pumps...Schwing and Putzmeister

I have a structural engineer and a cement or concrete hand coming over to the new house to look at the basement on Tuesday. The Foundation is in great shape. no cracks there, and there are no cracks at all in the sheet rock anywhere in the house. But in the unfinished basement there are severe cracks in the floor in one spot it has dropped about 2-3". I'm getting a quote on what it costs to fix and then I'm taking it to the sellers

They may not be able to tell what the problem is until they remove a section of the floor. They can guess, but may not be sure until later. Hopefully it is just something small.

Lot of bentonite in the soil in that part of town. They did a good job on the footings as far as I can tell but the floor has settled considerably
