I have replaced the battery and taken it apart to remove dust from behind the screen. Just tear into it. The way I see it, it is already broke so why not.

Well Im betting the headphone jack is soldered onto the circuit board. So that wont be the easiest thing to replace... Not sure its worth it.

What did you use to open it?

There are videos on YouTube. On the iPhone there are two screws at the bottom. After taking them out I use a suction cup to pull out the screen. Then you are in it.

We've switched to mac's in our house. I've been drinking the the apple cool-ade. I have a MacBook Pro, my son has a MacBook, my wife has my old MacBook Pro and I now have an iMac at the office. Lame I know...but I do prefer them. My experience has been that they crash way less, boot up and shut down A LOT faster, much more integrated for media, etc.

There are a few quirky things, but overall I'm a believer.

I guess that was a Mac Book I bought her not a iBook. I like using both I use PC at work

X2 on the macs, my wife is a teacher and that is all the schools here use. So she is getting us switched over, I think they are easy to use.

I used Macs all through grade school, started on some really old school ones. When I graduated we had eMacs.
I know the basics and can see why people like them. I like them because they are more intuitive and user friendly than PCs. What I dont like is they aren't very customizable (not sure if thats the word I want to use).
