What the heck is gman talking about in tall's mussel thread? He gets broken up critters coming out his exhaust after he visits Mead? Only way you would see that is if you are sucking them in as you trailer the boat and shut it down...plus, it's not like they float! Fricken things are attached like barnacles to the rocks. He probably had them growing in the engine after his trip and then they flushed out later when he ran it.

I always love getting a new car, just that picking it out sucks.

I was under the inmpession that they can't live in the engine. The heat kills them off.

I fail to believe that they could grow large enough in the cooling system to be able to see "broken up critters" coming out later. First, the time for them to grow big enough is probably not a short time. Second, for that entire time, they need a food supply (and oxygen, but let's assume that enough can get in). Where are they going to get enough food for that long to grow big enough?
