You changed out the brake light assembly and bulbs twice and still have the same result?
It has to be a short in the trailer harness then. Does it have two bulbs in the light assembly or one bulb with two filaments.

My Dad was a Navy pilot I saw the Blue Angels every year, I grew up thinking that was just normal stuff

Being an Air Force brat, I was always partial to the Thunderbirds. Plus, I now live where their home base is located, so it is easy to catch a show or two each year. Speaking of brakes... I am at my wits end. Seriously, how can one trailer brake light work and the other NOT?!?! New lights and all. I even got another new one, wired it up with the same result. How can the turn indicator work, but not the brake??

The feed wire that controls the turn also controls the brake and hazard. If both the hazard and turn work, the brake certainly ought to...

Make sure the the harness connectors are good and clean.
