You might get your wish with the iPhone and Verizon. Rumor has it that the phone will be coming sometime between now and the end of the year. But again, it's a rumor. Then there is the iPhone 4.0 conference this Thursday. The invitations have a shadowed upsidedown 4 that looks to be like a V. I wonder if they are going to announce it this Thursday.

I hope so...I've heard the iPhone/Verizon rumor for quite some time.

the verizon iphone would suck, you can only surf and talk if your on wifi. Verizon's network will not allow surfing and talking at the same time.
