Is the wire stranded?Originally posted by bryce2320 View PostI bought the soldering gun. Idk what kind of wire I have or anything like that. It just keeps balling up and rolling of the copper pin on the LEDs.
What size is the solder? Smaller the better as it melts faster. The longer you heat the strip, the more it melts out the contact disc. If you have to, snip the exposed end off the strip and move to the other end.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Also, pull the trigger on the gun before touching it to the strip and wire. This lets the tip get hot. This means its hot before hitting the strip and wire. In the ideal world, the solder needs to melt from the heat off the wire, not by touching the tip of the solder. other wise, you get a cold solder and the wire will pop off.Originally posted by bryce2320 View PostI bought the soldering gun. Yeah, you gotta have the surface clean. Kinda like trying to weld a rusted or painted surface, it wont take. No, the heatshrink only makes a moisture seal, the solder needs to hold the wires.Originally posted by bryce2320 View PostI didnt have the copper on the LEDs stripped all the way down I dont think. I got them soldered on now. I mean if I wiggle and tug on them they pop off. I guess thats where the heat shrink would come into effect huh?Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
