It takes X amount of battery Ah's to produce Y watts RMS. It doesnt matter whether its 2 or 4 or 10 amplifiers doing it. Speaker wattage is not created, the amplifier just converts battery amperage.Originally posted by bryce2320 View Post

Another way to look at it. The same number of carbon molecules exits the exhaust of an car as the number the enters. Through heat and pressure, the engine just converts them from HC and O2, to CO and CO2 and a little bit of NOX. Its how mother nature/science/physics work.Originally posted by chpthril View PostIt takes X amount of battery Ah's to produce Y watts RMS. Ok I gotcha, it would be 1800 watts rms more than I have now so almost double the 3 amps I have now, which is 2600 so I figuered 2 more batterys to be safe would do the trick. Idk if it would be worth it to put 1 1000/1 on each VC rather then to how it is now. I'd be able to run the amps per JL specs tho which wouldnt heat the amp up nearly as much because when it is over the AC voltage they call for, it seems to get pretty damn hot.Originally posted by chpthril View PostIt takes X amount of battery Ah's to produce Y watts RMS. Yea i understand, the wording of your first post threw me off for some reason. That makes sense thoOriginally posted by chpthril View PostAnother way to look at it. And your battery draw would be the same if you used a single 2000W mono as opposed to 2 1000W monos. Thats keeping it simple and not bringing the amp's power supply topology into the equation.Originally posted by bryce2320 View PostOk I gotcha, it would be 1800 watts rms more than I have now so almost double the 3 amps I have now, which is 2600 so I figuered 2 more batterys to be safe would do the trick.
