I have installed one of these in a very high end condo and the owner absolutely loves it. This guy actually bought two condos one on the ground floor and the one directly above it and combined them so that his dog could get out on it's own. The ground floor level is mainly for the dog and guests, so basically he spent over a million bucks for his dog to be able to get in and out on it's own and this is the access door that he chose. I hope that you get your dogs back soon, they sure make life better.

I just saw this one online. It looks like the one I like the best as it does add some "security"

I'm just trying to decide if they are worth it, I mean if someone want's in my house, this won't stop them... IDK. Can't decide.

        Wing,

So since it looks like you have installed one, how hard would it be to install this into a wall, with the exterior being brick? Is it something a DIY'er like me could do.... or not? Just wondering if I could tackle it or hire it our, or just put it in a door (obviously I know I can handle the door)

        THANKS!!

I remember the flange around the door kit being about 2", so that doubled would be your margin for error. I think if you were to get a skill saw with a masonry cutting cheapo blade from home depot, you should be able to get a pretty good cut. Then the rest is about as easy as the indoor install. I have confidence that you would be up to it. The security issue with these is if someone gets ahold of the dog's transmitter, usually on the collar then they have access. How friendly are your dogs to strangers? If they are too friendly I don't know that these are anymore secure than the normal non electronic version.

I see I would have to get the tunnel part. The only dog I would have would be the older one. She is a biatch to people at first... but then nice. But she never goes outside unless she needs the bathroom. Plus my fence is locked...

I might look into it. I take it like a sassaw (sp?) with a masonary blade would do the trick.... I'll have to go look at home to see if I can find an area I'd wanna put it into my wall....

Good to know Domz. We just had some friends get robbed about a month ago and that is how the thieves entered the house. The doggy door. I'll pass it along to them.

this will by no means stop anyone from entering into their house if they want in, but it locks and minus kicking the whole dog door in they are not going to get in.

Abby has learned it in 2 days (and she doesn't go outside exept to TCOB. I like it, she still gets startled by the motor noise. It's not loud, but she is just very sensitive. I'm pretty sure she will have it mastered by the end of the week.
