Anyone use trex for their bunks?

We need to replace our bunks and was wondering if anyone has thought about trex. Pros? Cons? Just figured it would last forever and wouldn't half to replace them again. Thoughts?

Trex is not as strong as wood. If you use it for a deck I believe you need closer stringers so you might need more bunk supports on your boat. And if its not as strong then it might break down and the mounting screws might back out sooner than wood screws. There are some plastic caps that screw into wood bunks which look like they would last longer than carpet, but I wouldn't try trex until some trailer companies start offering it as an option.

I would think that if you float your boat on/off the trailer and don't hammer it on you would be fine. The pressure points are the same once the boat is on the trailer?

I thought about but, I decided against it pretty quickly once I got my hands on it. Too soft and flexible.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.
