I check the lugs on my car after I change them out and then I re-torque them after driving for a few miles to make sure they haven't loosened so I check mine twice a year. And anytime I have the torque wrench out to check the trailer tires I also check my cars, so I guess more than twice a year.

Check my boat trailer first 50 miles and then every 200 miles generally. I check truck tires about every 2500 month or 5 weeks generally average 2,000 miles a month and last thing I want is an issue while on the road and one that was easily preventable with proper maintenance.

Just checked mine on 2012 boatmate with rzr atop thanks to this thread and sure enough three lugs on starboard side were loose as a goose. Port side was good but holy cow that is an accident waiting to happen.

Headed to the lake now for the weekend. Hope this rain lets up.
