New Paint, Gelcoat, Graphics?

Next on my list is new paint/gelcoat/graphics on my year-long Tige Rescue project.

Who's repainted their ride out there?

I want to replace the black color on the hull with a royal/navy blue (the same shade of blue I have in the interior).

I want to replace the red stripe with gray (same shade I have in the interior).

Thoughts? Who's danced this dance before?

I repainted my first boat. I had a guy in the bodyshop spray it for me. He did the bottom from the keel to the outside chine with single stage (base+clear) auto-body paint (matching the original white) and then the middle hull color in 2 part (base then clear), to match the factory maroon. Turned out great. Sold the boat within the year, so I have no idea how it really held up in the long run but we thought it should have done pretty good.

That is some beautiful water the boat is sitting in.. Nice clear blue water.

Chpthril, thanks for the tip. If anyone else has repainted a boat, I'd like your input. I don't know about painting boats, so I assumed (maybe erroneously) that there would be something special with the gel coat.

The boat pictures are from a trip to Bear Lake, on the Idaho-Utah border. The water is clean & clear. When you get to the lake you have to drive through several canyons & mountain passes.

The contrast with the surrounding nature is really nice.

Stayed at a condo there while snowboarding at Beaver Mountain one year. It is really a beautiful lake/area.

I love Bear lake but always cold. Where are you located????

My parents painted their boat a few years ago with awlgrip and it came out great. I remembered seeing this website a little bit ago about boat surveys and they have a pretty informative painting section.

I just had my Tige repainted.

Tell me what you think.. Could you tell me where I can find a good image graphic for my boat? I have a local company that will print the graphic and install it's just that most graphics are to pixellated.
