If you are pouring it in through the "J" hose, 2.5-3.

not sure what j hose is. poured 3 gallons down 4 rear hoses located top of motor, 2 large hoses and 2 smaller, one each, 2 each port and starboard sides. did this after removing 6 drain plugs and hose for impeller, then replacing all for antifreeze. thanks. walt M.

further inspection shows me one of the 4 rear hoses described in earlier text appears to be the J hose when you follow it from port side to lower part of rear engine, forming a J and appears to be 3 inch diameter; so appears i got it all afterall. thanks.

The "J" hose goes from the thermostat housing to the water circulation pump.

My 340 Marine Power takes just a bit over 2 gallons.
