    Slalom on a Z3

    Have any of you slalomed on Z3? What did you think and without the ski pylon, would it be best to put the rope on the tower or on the tow hook?

    A quick search using "Z3 Slalom" produced these results;

        Baked is forum member here that regularly slaloms behind a z3. He has posted in many threads. May be worth looking at his posts as well.

          Bakes5 would definitely be the one to ask. IIRC, he said it wasn’t terrible.
          You'll get your chance, smart guy.

                Thanks guys!

                I sold my 2003 21i when I bought my Z3 and my wife wasn't too happy with me since she really like slalom skiing and thinks that she doesn't care for surfing.

                  Your wife sounds like she has her head screwed on straight. Slalom is fine at 32 mph and 1-2 people in the boat and less than 1/2 tank gas. Taps at 3. Load it up with 8-10 people and it's a brick wall

                    Sounds like she’s going to need to take some advice from a boy named Sue and get tough or die. How often are you going to be 1/2 full of fuel with only you and one other person on board. Does she ski at 32mph?

                      It's actually ok with up to 4-5 folks on board. It just really sucks with a full load and is a surprising delight with a light load.

                      Couple things

                      1) 15x13 prop is a good balance prop to surf and slalom
                      2) you kinda have to preload then jump the wake. Treat it like a jump.
                      3) if your out of position on a cut, let go and live to cut again.
                      4) consider a hard shell double boot binding that can release on hard out the front falls.

                          Here is a nice long one of just good, fun mellow slalom on the Z3.

                          Speed 32MPH
                          Peeps: 3-4 on boat
                          Taps at 3
