    Rocker Switch for Taps

I was wondering if any one knew where in the heck I can order or get one of these things. My taps quit working and I have narrowed it down to this switch. When I jump the wires everything works fine. This is the rocker switch on my throttle and is activated with your thumb usually.

The writing on it indicates it is a Carling Technologies model #621.

Called Chris at my local Tige Dealer (Slalom Shop) he didn't have any recommendations.

    Thanks Rob

Depending on the number of poles, you can order the exact carling switch from mouser.com

Mouser is in Texas and deals Carling components. You may need to compare to the catalog, or call them. They are very helpful.

Thats a single pole double throw, which I would assume TAPs is. On-Off-On. I don't know if it is momentary or not though. You can get any single pole double throw, SPDT, (on) off (on) and replace it with the same size. Post a picture of the back side in focus. There should be a better part number on there somewhere as well. Can you post that?

Here is the catalog page at mouser for Carling switches:
    http://www.mouser.com/catalog/627/1307.pdf

a better part number would be better.

    Here is the Carling page
    http://rocker-switches.carlingtech.c...switch__35.asp

I would call and tell them the model, and see what they could do. You need Carling part number 62112481, 62112482, 621122837

Each of those has a different lug type, but any will work.

    Edit:
It looks like mouser has them but not the exact one you need, and not in stock (which means bulk only). The on you need is red, and mouser only carries the black one. Here is the one you need in black.

The one you need exaclty would be with a V on the end for red color, and different leads for the blade terminals

Here you go...this one will snap right in

      http://www.mouser.com/search/Product...629-GRS4013C01

same size (.508 x .756) and a spdt, only difference is that it is black.

This is a red DPDT...it will work too, just hook up one pole. Otherwise it is the same as above

      http://www.mouser.com/search/Product...9-GRS4023C0005

Here is a data sheet on this one to compare to the above.

      Hope that helps.

I love mouser. I used to be all digikey, but I hated calling. Whoever I talked with always seemed like they had better things to do. Mouser is a 180 of that. Good luck replacing that switch.

I am responding based on the fact that you have 3 previous posts on our forum. That leads me to believe you have posted before, and may be back again. I know it's unlikely you will ever read this, but... if your writing tips include only responding with information APPLICABLE to the topic at hand, you may want to review your own tips before posting on these threads. Additionally, "good work" is subjective. Your posting here leads me to believe your definition is VERY broad. Just my .

Thanks Mike. Learn something new every day. Looks like he's on a recent streak of one a month. I only wish they were more like the telemarketers... I enjoy messing with them.
