03 22v tranny/v-drive removal and reinstall process question

Our tranny started slipping and has to be rebuilt and I wasn't sure if there was different ways to remove and reinstall it.

I have already pulled the tranny and v-drive together as another post has mentioned.

Is there any reason not to remove them independently?
Also, is there any reason not to install the tranny then the v-drive.

As anyone who has done this knows the combined weight can make it pretty difficult to get the assembly lined up and back in place.
It would seem to make sense to keep it lighter and not risk wrecking the threads on the bell housing studs.
Once the tranny was back in place and the mounts and all bolted back up, it seems like it would be easier to align and bolt up the v-drive.

Any insight as to why this approach might not work would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!!

i have removed them as an assembly then took them apart to replace the lip seal between them, if you have them both out, for the price and time I would replace the seals.
im no expert but that's what I would do.

I own a 2000 21v that ive complete torn apart!! not sure if that is a good thing or not!
