Are these the myths or the fact? And I completely disagree with the closing moral, thats why I am asking.

Agreed, there is no 100% solution for anything. Seafoam doesn't cure all ills. But I will stand up and say it definitely keeps your engine and fuel system clean. Well worth the money, I spend it every year. But I also go out of my way to buy non-ethanol fuel. I'd rather keep that stuff out of my equipment in the first place than try to chemically correct for it after the fact.

Yes, I believe the idea is to prevent phase separation - not repair it. I've not heard of a product that "fixes" gasoline once it has "gone bad".

I still maintain that the best solution is to prevent problems in the first place to whatever extent is possible. That's why I 1) use non-ethanol fuel, and 2) use Seafoam and (during winter storage) StaBil in that non-ethanol fuel. Other people's opinions may differ, but that approach has been working very successfully for me for many years and I have quite a few marine and offroad engines to keep running.

Im all about preventative maintenance and get leery about products that claim to "fix" stuff. In my years in the auto biz, I came across a lot of products. Most I believed to worked as a preventative maintenance product when used on occasions. None where ever found to be a magic potion that cured a problem that was as result of lack of maintenance. Ethanol doesnt scare me, even though I have had to clean the carbs of my trimmer, 2 blowers, a chainsaw and now my pressure washer, due to sitting too long with untreated ethanol blended fuel. Shame on me for not ding what i know I should have

I think there are some good products out there for the marine consumer to use to fight the effects of ethanol fuel use. but i would hate for some one to have a false sense of security by simply using a single product. I dont think the fight against the side effects of ethanol are that simple. Theres a ton of info out there. Some i agree with, some I dont. Some I think is accurate, just overkill for me, but might be the right course of action for others.
