They arent. We boat in that exact situation and I'm always amazed how fast the river returns to perfect sometimes glass calm even with multiple crazy tubers like us.

Ditto. I have never measured how long a power turn wake lasts on a river or a lake vs a 24 ft boat running parallel to skiers/boarders at 40mph in a straight line but I suspect that wake is going to roll as much water as the guy who executes a quick power turn and get back to his rider in same line as his wake was coming from canceling some of that wake...
