40 more HP will probably not even be noticable. A prop change would probably be a better investment. I definitely don't want my boat to be less efficient.

I have been turning wrenchs cars/boats for over 20 yrs. I think you really need to step back and retrace your steps. You played the game of "spin the wheel of diagnostics" and lost. So you get upset..sorry it worked out like that. Having the ability you have you should know better than to play that game. Or atleast dont get all pissed off when it dont work out..Had you guessed righton the first try you would not be all pissed off. So now its Tiges fault you gambled and lost..Sorry man I cant see that. Sure PCM system is a little of the wall in the way it is designed but its been around for years and is really pretty simple to figure out. I cant believe with a little research on the net you could not find some info on this. Its a pretty common issue. With a really cheap fix. Bottom line is you got it fixed and you now have a good running wake making machine. You spent a little time and money getting educated on how it works. Its part of it. You either pay someone who knows or you pay to learn. But you dont blame the manufacturer for your mistake. Been there done that man I have been in your shoes and it is tuff trying to fix something you dont understand but the system does work as designed its your job to figure it out, no matter how stupid you think the system is. It worked as designed.

Hey guys, we need to change this thread from Won't Buy a Second, cause I fixed my first one. Let's look at it logically, we all get mad and frustrated when things aren't working the way we want them to, and often say things that we wish we could take back... but we are suppose to support our fellow tige owners. Sure our feathers are ruffled, but we are here to help. Let's give Wicked credit, he found the problem and fixed it. Let's forgive and forget.....and GO BOATING!!!!
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Agreed, but I do think he should apologize for calling all Tige dealer techs no better than jiffy lubers unless he knows all these techs?

I should say sorry for calling all the dealer techs yahoos but the one I know of sure has a yahoo working there!

But alot of people on here showed my point. I mean honestly you think Tige shouldnt offer some sort of help LIke maybe a returned eamil or phone call? I mean fawk was a 60k boat new and is barley broken in with the hours it has! I dont care the age thats bad business. We at dodge would have gladly helped someone out with so little use on one of our vehicles even if it was 8 years old. Matter of fact we still good will warranty alot of stuff 10 years old!

And my bitch is just that all I wanted was a phone call to talk to a factory tech or someone whom could anwser a few questions! Just shows they only stand behind there current product and dont really care about the stuff they built prior there warranty period. Thats my bitch..

Focus again My bitch is there lack of giving a $$ HIT

Not that my boat was down or broken. Not the money I spent. Its the fact they put off as O he owns a older boat whos gives a $hit! Thats my bitch. Now read again my BITCH is that they cant even return a phone call or email to someone who bought one of there boats! Not like I am asking for a long call or multiple calls or emails. But a response would be swwwweeeeet!

I know they dont build the engine but they pick whoms they install!

Sounds like you were able to fix it really fast once you had the right scanner.
So what kind of scan tool is needed for the mercruiser in my 2000, 2100V?

Yah the fix is easy when you can see what the ecu is doing!

You might be able to use a Tech1 but More Im sure the Diacom would work on yours as well!

Who did you try to contact at Tigé? I have always gotten prompt responses from Tigé and my dealer.

(1)Did you bring your boat into the dealer to be checked out and they couldnt fix it?
                          (2) After they couldnt fix it you called PCM?
                          (3) After pcm didnt call you called Tige?
Im trying to find out how this went down so that nobody makes the same mistake.
Our procedures at our dealership go as follows, diagnois problem, if need assist contact engine manufacturer, if very unique problem contact dealer network and factory support.
We have never had any problem with this system thus far.
As far as car dealerships goes, each manufacturers have their own specific scanners and not anyone covers every brand fully, when we work on a Dodge and our scanner doesnt cover every bit of info we like , it doesnt reflet on the manufacturer, Tiges non response could have been because the proper channels of comunication should have been from the dealer level.
Pertaining to Indmar, PCM, MERCRUISER, MARINE POWER, they all use the same scan equipment so how were you going to be better off with the other brands their procedures are the same?

I have had issues with my boat as well, and I bought it new. When the transmission cooler plugged, the boat got hot, and the alarm did not go off. The engine died just as the alarm finally sounded, and then it was too late. I destroyed my motor with just 20 hours. Tige refused to service the boat, saying it was a Marine Power issue, and MP refused to help saying it was a Tige issue. The dealer, VS Marine told me it was an "accident" and to contact my insurance. Boat US (my insurance) paid to have a new motor put in the boat. The local dealer, now out of business, installed a new motor and botched the install. Frustrated, I took it into my hands and built my own motor, I installed the engine, and upgraded it to a 383 at the same time. Through this incident, I found that Tige and Marine Power both were at fault, and neither cared to pony-up. My boat is great now, but only because I am mechanical enough to take these issues into my own hands and fix them the way they should have been manufactured. Tige is a good product, and uses the same parts and technology as MasterCraft and Malibu. This is my second Tige, and the first one had over 900 hours on it when I traded it in... with no issues. I can't say that Tige is a "bend-over-backwards-to-help-the-customer" kind of company, so I understand this guy's frustration. I know that when I sell my 20i, I will be the one servicing it for the new owner. I don't have anyone within the Tige system I would trust to touch it now.
So this monkey walks into a bar...
