I have a 22Ve. I just notice my heater core leaking today. Anybody had any experience changing it themselves or is it a dealer job? I am not even sure where I would purchase the part or even find out what part it is. It seems Tige' has keeps this information close. I can't find much on the net. So much for the $$ paid to have the boat winterized.

It's a Heater Craft heater asm, probably a sticker on it somewhere, but it wont give you a replacement part number though. Try using the "Search" button, Dom @ Forts Inboard Connection, I think, posted up a replacement core part # that you should be able to walk into any auto parts store and find.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Thanks for your help. I have pulled out the heater core unit and it does need replaced. There is no sticker or other identification of the part number anywhere. I can't find Dom's posting. Any other ideas how to find the replacement part. Does Tige' have a parts listing anywhere? My local auto parts store was clueless. Maybe I'll check a larger store tomorrow.Last edited by jwdavies; 06-29-2010, 05:07 AM.

Take it to the auto parts store and look for one off of a 70's Ford Truck. The one for mine was off of like a '73 Ford F100 or something. Do a search on the internet and there is a company that lists measurements for the cores and you can match it up pretty close. The Ford one is <$25 and the Heatercraft one is $75.

My heater is a three vent heater. Apparently the older ford model heater cores work for the two vent heaters but not the three. I have visited three auto parts stores, Checker, Napa, and O'Reily with no luck and finally called Heater Craft to ask about the core. They said the core in the H301 is custom made for them. I guess I will wait for three weeks for a new one since they are on back order.

i had the heater core go bad on my 2001 21v... my local guy just ran a home depot special to get me back on the water until the heater cam in... not that i think about it i wish i never even replaced the heater core because it will probably just go bad again since i use it in the salt water all the time... anyway.. he told me the reason it went bad was from not flushing the boat long enough after each use... i dunno... rean me like 400 buck with labor.. i should have just done it myself because it didn't look hard at all... i got rick-rolled for sure..Originally posted by jwdavies View PostMy heater is a three vent heater.
