Thanks, Lee. You always come through. I will be up there this weekend to disconnect from the rudder and test which is the problem. The rudder box or the cable. Don't need to order parts I don't need. Keep you all posted on the outcome. Brent
It is always something...while waiting on the new, modern helm I thought I would run the new cable. After a lot of blood, more blood, sweat and gritted teeth, I got the cable out from under the engine. Unfortunately the nut on the cable housing had welded itself to the ram tube. Dissimilar metals not playing well together. Completely ripped the threads off of the aluminum tube. Found another tube and it should be here by next weekend. New cable is run and awaiting new parts. Ready to have this done! Cannot complain too much, this cable is 16 years old.
