    Fuel pump cooler

When I winterized my boat last fall, I took off the bottom cap from the fuel pump cooler. I did not notice any o-ring or seal of any kind. What keeps that from leaking? Appreciate any info. (2007 Tigé 22VE)

There should be a flat rubber gasket. Maybe it was stuck on the canister side?

I am unwinterizing my boat now and I'm leaking a small amount of water from the bottom of the fuel cooler. I removed and cleaned the gasket really good and it's still leaking. The gasket isnt damaged or anything... How big of a problem is this since it's a small amount of water? should I silicone around the outside of the gasket? It almost appears as if there isn't a water tight seal there regardless.
