My boat overheats in the lake in about 20 minutes. Runs fine when hooked up to a water hose at the house. Please help. Is there a pump between the intake and the hose connection that isn't drawing the water in?

Impeller
After it overheated the 1st time I took it to the lake, I was told that it was probably the impeller. I just bought this boat from a guy in FL and we took it out before I brought it to KY. It ran great and he said he has never had an overheating problem. He recently had serviced it an replaced the impeller. I looked at the impeller yesterday and it looked brand new.

Good chance a boat from FL has a strainer, if not, it may have some crap clogging the trans cooler.Originally posted by ajholt7 View PostIf the impeller is new. Maybe some debries. How long did you run it on the hose? Does it have a sea strainer?Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

It should be in the intake water hose between the scoop and the V-drive. Looks like a see-through canister with a filter/screen.Originally posted by tigeky View PostSorry, I don't know if it has a sea strainer.
