    Wake N Flake - N.Carolina

    Hey everybody!
We are planning a FUN'd raiser March 8th. Wakeboard during the day, snowboard in the evening, all to raise money to benefit local Children's Homes. The money raised will help support the "Wake the World" event later in the summer (June 22 & 23) Here is video from last year.

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=glkfviTlQhU

Here is how it is going to work:

    Participants (you) will sign up.
Choose the best site for you to wakeboard. Belews, Hyco or Lake Wylie (this list may change).
We will have boat dealers at each location to provide the boats.
You will travel (either on your own or with us in a van) to either Sugar or App (that is being decided today.
When you arrive, you will follow the signs to check in, pick up your hooded sweatshirt, decals & lift ticket.
We may or may not have a hospitality area set up (depending on sponsors)

This is also a possible Guiness World Record attempt, Most people to wakeboard & snowboard on the same day. We applied with Guiness and should know sometime next week if they will accept this "new" category.

If you would like to participate let me know by email
    waketheworld @ earthlink.net

There is also a facebook group, Wake N Flake

I should know the cost per person later today and lot's more details by middle of next week.

There will probably be some good media coverage also. So if you know of a potential sponsor, send them our way.

Be a part of something cool that you can tell your friends about for the rest of your life!

    Greg

This event is on schedule and it looks like we are going to have around 40 participants. The forecast could not be better with highs in the 70's for wakeboarding and plenty of snow in the NC mountains to get on the slopes. The best news is that it is all being done for such a wonderful cause....check it out at www.waketheworldnc.com

Here is a link to a interview with Greg Hodgin that aired locally today. Hopefully we'll have live some news coverage tomorrow and I'll take a few pics too.
