2011 Tige Owners Reunion at Lake Mead VI -Sept. 24th
I boat Mojave ALOT along with the river below Davis Dam (i.e Needles (jeffe territory)). We usually stay in Laughlin for cheap rooms and fun nightlife.
Make no mistake, Mohave gets blown out more times than not.
The river at Needles even with the Santa Anas blowing at 40mph never produce more than light chop.
Jeffe has plenty of space for all TO members...Im sure he is down for the reunion at his place!!!
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!!! For the past 8 years we've been houseboating at Mead that same week and last year we went to Mohave b/c 7 crowns doesn't rent Mead anymore. Mohave???? Weather was sick last year and as the pic shows about Mead, wind kinda gets up sometimes (almost sunk when I took a wave over the bow!). The wind swell was 4-6' with chop on top. The fetch at Mohave will not propogate the wind swell that Mead gets and the lake cannot drop below 6' of full. And the casinos in Laughlin are right down the way...
I know it's a longshot but we've already booked our trip at Mohave, just figured I'd try.
Those kinds of winds are exceptionally rare in September on Lake Mead. Very common in the spring, but very rare in the fall.
I would vote no on going to Mojave just because the local dealer support is an important part of this shindig, and it would be more difficult for them to do this down at Mojave. But it sure is not a bad consideration.

Powell always drops this time of year and bottoms out around the middle of April. The "experts" predict that Powell should be close to what it was last summer.
I hope Powell fills back up, but I would really like to see Lake Mead come up another 10+ feet since we always go down so fast in the late summer. Right now even with Powell down 20 feet since Nov. it is still at 54% and Lake Mead is only 43% with the 14 feet it's gone up this winter. Eitherway, there will be plenty of water for another reunion and as long as everyone stays away from Andrew's Island and nobody claims one of their own, it will be a good time!
