    2023 Tige Reunion at Lake Havasu, Arizona

    GREAT News! We have already started preparing for the 18th Annual West Coast Tige Owners Reunion. The event will once again be at the Havasu Springs Resort www.havasusprings.com in Lake Havasu, AZ. We realize it's early, but we are trying to provide our participants the maximum amount of time necessary for vacation planning. The 2023 event will take place September 8-10, 2023. There are a handful of Lake View rooms still available. The block number you will need for those is 143369. We also have 5 RV spots reserved for our event. https://www.riverrvrentals.com/ has RVs available for rent. They will drop off and pick up as well. The RV site rental fee (full hook ups) at Havasu Springs is $74 a night. The Block number for the Lake View rooms is 143613. To reserve, contact Havasu Springs at (928) 667-3361 (ext. 2). This announcement will be shared across all of our social media accounts today, so hurry and book before it's too late.

            There are still a few Lake View rooms available. Also, we have been posting "Weekly Owner Spotlights" on our social media pages! Please feel free to follow us on Facebook at "West Coast Tige Owners Reunion", and on Instagram at "westcoasttigeowners"! Even if you've never attended one of our reunions, these weekly owner spotlights are pretty cool! Thanks to Meighan White for the wonderful idea.

              We sent out a survey a few minutes ago for next years reunion attendees. If you did not receive it and you are interested, please send your email address to davidwpowell2@verizon.net

                Thank you for those who completed the recent 2023 Tige Owners Reunion survey. We advertised on the Tige Owners forum, the West Coast Tige Owners Reunion Facebook page, and the West Coast Tige Owners Instagram page to maximize our participation rate. We received 33 responses. To avoid any conflict of interest, the coordinators did NOT participate in the survey. We have provided a brief summary of those responses here;
                1. 97% of the survey respondents indicated their willingness to offset the coordinators expenses with a donation. THANK YOU! More information on how to donate will be distributed later. As with last year, we will provide a complete account of where the money is spent to those who donate.
                2. More than 65% chose a short sleeve shirt over a long sleeve.
                3. More than 62% chose a Clima-Cool over a Cotton t-shirt.
                4. More than 51% would be interested in purchasing a long sleeved Clima-Cool shirt.
                5. When asked “Would you be interested in another group picture of everyone at the outdoor wedding venue (next to the banquet hall) before the dinner and raffle”, more than 82% liked the idea. This will be in addition to the group boat photo.
                6. More than 82% respondents chose “the friendships (new or old) and camaraderie of other Tige Boat Owners” as the primary reason they are interested in attending the reunion.
                7. When asked what returning boat owners would like to see less of in 2023, the leading response was “nothing, the event has been stellar” at 86%.
                8. When asked what returning boat owners would like to see more of in 2023, the leading response was “nothing, the event has been stellar” at 75%.
                9. More than 62% were willing to volunteer for the event. THANK YOU! It sure helps the volunteer coordinators out a ton when others are willing to pitch in. Simply put, we couldn’t (and wouldn’t) do this without you.
                10. When provided the open-ended question of “if you could implement or change one thing (good or bad) at the event, what would it be?” we received 20 responses. Some noteworthy responses included;
                o Make Temple Bar great again! If they’d only add more rooms, we would return in a heartbeat – well, that and a launch ramp going into the water.
                o More tie-ups. We believe that might be too much of a good thing
                o The meal was great, but the dessert was subpar. We agree! We will mention it to the caterer but cannot guarantee anything.
                o Less David. LOL! Gee thanks Jason Robertson! Yes, I know it was you!

                o Add another day to it so it’s not so crammed to get everything done. We like the idea, but there are many participants that don’t arrive until Friday afternoon. We would hate for them to miss out on anything. There was a group trip to TOPOCK 66 last year on Thursday (announced on all our social media sites). 8 boats went up and had a great time. We're looking at doing a similar trip (perhaps the Naked Turtle at the Nautical) next year.
                o Let's do the tie up with two rows again, that worked great. If we had a dollar for every time we’ve heard that the last few months, we would be rich! We agree. All credit for this idea goes to our Texas contingent!
                o More sponsor involvement and surfboard demo. We keep trying!
                o Wish that the Springs had more rooms available! For perspective, this event has grown tremendously over the last 18 years. We moved to Havasu Springs from Temple Bar to Havasu Springs for double the rooms, and now we are busting at the seams again. A good problem to have for sure.
                o Ability not to drink so much during the tie off. Legitimate request, but we can’t help you there, LOL
                o Hearing from other boat owners at the dinner, a spotlight of some sort. Meighan White came up with the great idea of doing the owner spotlight on our social media pages. We have been doing a weekly spotlight since October, and plan on continuing throughout the year. We will also have a different voice for the raffle this year! I think you will all enjoy his… style!
                11. When provided the question of “Would you be interested in moving the event to a larger facility in Lake Havasu (i.e. the Nautical Inn, London Bridge Resort, etc.)” the vote was 50% in favor, 50% preferring to leave it at Havasu Springs. Some noteworthy write in responses included;
                o Love the Springs, I think the biggest challenge to a new location is the ability to have the large no wake zone nearby.
                o Wherever the least amount of crowds would be
                o I’m indifferent. Like the seclusion of the springs but also understand the desire to be more inclusive as our community grows.
                *No decision has been made on this yet!

                12. When the following was posted as the last question on the survey “This will be our 8th year coordinating the annual Tige Boat Owners Reunion. We would be happy to turn it over to someone else for 2024 if they are interested. If you are interested, please leave your name here, or e-mail davidwpowell2@verizon.net *Please understand; this is a yearlong VOLUNTEER commitment with many hours necessary”, There were no responses or emails to us with anyone interested in taking over the coordinator responsibilities. Buehler? Buehler?

                Thank you for taking time to provide us feedback. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
                Dave and Pam Powell, West Coast Tige Owners Reunion Volunteer Coordinators.

                          It's time to reserve those golf cars, if you haven't already. If you are attending the reunion for the first time, trust us when we say you will want a golf car for the event. Everything at Havasu Springs Resort is spread out and quite a walk from one place to another (restaurant/bar, launch ramp, docks, etc.).
