Does anyone regularly use the skybox seating option, or are the brackets gathering dust in your garage as well? This is probably an old topic here, but, any thoughts?

Gathering dust. I ride a hydrofoil and the configuration is not good for stepping over with the ski in hand. It is however good if you are looking for a huge wake. 4 guys in the back creates a very nice wake.

It allows the rear bench to be reversed for rearward viewing, additional brackets required to accomplish and an additional person is nice. I tried it once last summer. Put the brackets away. Thanks for the question.

the 21i must have a different interior configuration because mine just has 3 cushions sitting on a bench.

Ok, I see you have a bench seat, now, does the whole thing turn around so you still have a full back, or do you just have a flat bench with the "skybox seating?"

The older 21i models have metal brackets that allow the backseat to face rearward so you can watch whats going on. The newer models, '03^ maybe '02 Have the seat made so you dont need brackets you just turn the seat and your good to go.

I think the older ones do have back on them but the new ones do not have a back, except for the motor cover, and thats more of a recliner.

I use it whenever I have a boatload of people... it only takes a few minutes... Im usually dancing around the gunwales to cater to everyone anyways and host, walking over it sucks but it gives a great lounge area for the girls to watch and take pictures of your skillz haha. I have a 99 21i, brackets definitely see use

I have a 2005 21i, and all we have to do is turn the seat around. Since we surf alot we use it that way most of the time and love it.

i don't have the brackets, but use it everytime we go out. I love it. It's a really nice option.
