    Chatter while idling

Hey guys took the boat out for the first time this year and backed into something underwater at a very low speed. Terrible boat launch and very shallow water. I need to have the prop and shaft checked, but I now have a very noticeable chatter/vibration while idling and in neutral. I'm pretty good with repairs so any info I would appreciate it.

    You probably bent something...

Even a slight ding on the prop can cause a lot of vibration.

If you have chatter while in neutral it could be your drive plate.

Might be a long shot and a coincidence but I recently had an iac (idle air control valve) start sticking and it caused a strange noise/roughness at idle.

Hey guys thanks for all the input. Ended up having the boat looked at, it ended up being a misfire. Really can't believe it was something so simple the boat showed no signs and ran perfect. Good thing is no damage to prop and shaft after hitting something.
