Prop shaft spinning when not in gear

Ran the boat today connected to the hose and noticed when i rev the boat (not in gear) the prop shaft spins. At idle the shaft is still and up to 1200 rpm, but above that the shaft starts to spin. It's a MP 340 direct drive 21I. Is this serious or just what happens.

You will get a little spin due to clearence in the trans or possibly a tight clutch pack , but that is normal nothing to worry about.
