Currently, your towers speakers are wired in parallel before arriving at the amp. bridging this 2 ohm load on the Syn-4 would result in each chnl seeing a 1 ohm load. The Syn-4 will not handle this load. The only way to run 4 tower speakers on your Syn-4 is either 1 speaker per chnl for 125W rms to each speaker or each pair wired in series and bridge an 8 ohm load, which equals the same power as 4 ohm x 4. You either need to swap the Syn-2 and Syn-4 for an SD-6 or run both the Syn-2 and Syn-4.....Syn-2 driving the Rev-8's and the Syn-4 driving the Rev-10's.

I would consider leaving out the Rev-8's and Syn-2 and just running the Rev-10's/Syn-4. Next to the 10's with 400W rms each, the 8's contribution will be minimal compared to the battery Ah consumed and space taken up by the amp. If you do decide to keep them, the SD-6 is the ideal route. it will deliver more power overall, yet be more efficient then the Syn-2/Syn-4 and take up less space.

Great looking boat Heffs08rz2!! Be sure to weight that bow for a nice long pocket on the RZ2 (do you have one U sack or two in the bow?). If 850 rear surf side is enough to get the rub rail near the water, try filling the off-side internal 250 (if rub rail not near water, I suggest leaving off side empty).

And one pair of Rev10s sounds amazing on our 09 RZ2. For future season upgrades, consider squeezing a pair of 808s in the bow (they fit with no cutting on the speaker, barely!) and, most important, a 12 sub in enclosure. That Tower of Power open 10" is lacking.

I keep my lake anchor under the front center bow cushion. My Box Anchor and Shore Spike easily fit under the port center seat.Al

What do you use for lake anchor (mushroom?)? I have a medium box anchor but I get tired of wrestling it in and out. Most days I do not need the extra holding power. Would love to get something smaller and keep it up front.

I'll be curious to see if Heffs ballast setup for surfing changes between his '08 and the '11. Bow weight for my '07 RZ2 really seems to flatten things out and I don't like the way it rides so we don't run any but everyone insists that these newer ones like bow weight.

The key to small lake anchor for me is an Anchor Buddy. It stretches when rollers come and allow you to use much less anchor line (don't need 3x depth then). I don't think they advertise that you can use a shorter line but you can get away with much less, especially when you just want to have a quick swim in a cove.

I think bow weight does decrease absolute height of the wave. But a tall wave with a short pocket is too little real estate to play with. For my wife on her TWC F18 for port wave, we usually run 1000 port rear locker, 250 port rear internal, 250 starboard rear internal (if 3+ passengers), and both bow 400 (each fills maybe 300), TAPS 3, 12.4 mph. If I need height and wall, I bump TAPS to 4 (factory TAPS plate, no spacer). If I need even more pocket or a mellow transition, I bump TAPS to 2 or even 1.

I do not think there is a difference in hull in early (07/08) or later RZ2 (09+).

I don't think there's a hull difference but maybe the placement of weight in the boat somehow. Could also be that the factory hard tanks put the weight back farther or something and I don't have those so that's why I see a difference.

Well.... When I bought my first boat for less than $3k, I was at Wal Mart looking for an anchor on a just graduated from college still living on Top Ramen budget. When I saw the mushroom I figured it was mostly the weight and not the shape that held it. A 25 lb plate for weight lifting was cheaper than the mushroom anchor and weighed more than the 15 lbs mushroom anchor. It has a lip that will grab sandy/mushy bottom that I am usually in. I had a buddy that had a mushroom and he said the mushroom will create a suction that holds them in mud/sand but my plate seems to hold fine when wind isn't too bad. I don't think the weight of it does much. Its more the muddy bottom that holds it I think.

Its done me well for over a decade and has ended up getting the most use on my 3 boats because we anchor and swim near the boat a lot more than leaving the boat for a long time. I would not want to use a small anchor if the boat is unattended.

My last two boats were smaller (under 20 ft) and I have not tried this anchor in the big 24 footer with much wind.

This past weekend, I anchored with the Danforth style anchor (with chain) but didn't set it correctly (no anchor buddy). The light wind was dragging it. I was lazy and didn't want to set it right. Tried the weight with anchor buddy and to my surprise it held (I left the other anchor in the water). When I pulled them out, the Danforth had tons of reeds/grass it picked up while dragging while the plate took a couple shakes to clean. I would think an anchor buddy would help any anchor out to keep a brief shock from dislodging your anchor.

With a mushroom and and anchor buddy, if its not too windy, I bet you would be happy with the ease of dropping (no need to set it, I don't think) and swim. You will start getting lazy like me and put less and less line out based on how long you plan to be there. I am looking to buy a box anchor that will work when I need a real anchor. The Danforth style seems like it is not as good as the box anchors I have seen others use.

the surf wave is absolutely amazing in this new boat compared to the 08. its deeper by a lot and we can now surf out an additional 3-4 ft back whereas the 08 you had to stay 3-4 ft off the back of the boat to keep in the sweet spot.
