Sorry to bring up this old thread, but I thought of a great way for GM to make some extra cash. Sell the licensing of Onstar to the other Manufacturers. I would buy the service. Just a thought?

I have had two GM's and wouldn't pay for the service. The only part that is worthwhile is the accident alert. I don't care about the maintenance alerts and the phone is dumb, just give me bluetooth.Originally posted by TeamAllen View PostSorry to bring up this old thread, but I thought of a great way for GM to make some extra cash. I bought a new tow rig. A small part of my decision to go away from a GM product was because of the bailout money that seems to have given them an unfair competitive advantage. Now they have better financing than Ford, and better incentives.Be excellent to one another.

how so?Originally posted by talltigeguy View PostI bought a new tow rig. A small part of my decision to go away from a GM product was because of the bailout money that seems to have given them an unfair competitive advantage. Now they have better financing than Ford, and better incentives.
they are still sucking and not doing anything good IMO and are still so far behind the times and what consumers want it's silly.Originally posted by G-MONEYIt hurts me to say it but go OU but only for this weekend!!!!

Gm would never do that. Its an incentive to buy a GM for that reason. Let others use it too would take that away.

Can you expand on that?

I wont do biz with any bank/lender that got bail-out $$$ and if I was ever in a position to buy a new (as in not used) vehicle, I would have a hard time buying from those that took bail-out.
Where was my bail-out???? And I sure as hell didnt get a bonus................but I sure as hell got a big bone in the arse

Only 3 more years till the change that Obama promised, comes

they are behind on what the consumer want's, it takes too long to get new cars out because they are still so intensive to get something out. They still are struggling and not doing what they need to to succeed. Still over paid employee's and run by the UAW.Originally posted by spenchey2 View PostGm would never do that. I have had the service on my GM products and never have renewed after the free trial. $200 a year for the cheap plan....I'll stick with AAA.Originally posted by TeamAllen View PostSorry to bring up this old thread, but I thought of a great way for GM to make some extra cash. How will AAA know you have had a wreck and are unable to call for help?Originally posted by sparky216 View PostI have had the service on my GM products and never have renewed after the free trial. $200 a year for the cheap plan....I'll stick with AAA.
IMO, $16 a month is not bad for passive emergency assistance based on GPS and a 5+ watt cell phone call.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I dont think they would have failed if they didnt recieve funding , I believe that other car companys or investors would have bought up various different sections of the company.
For example Pensky was going to buy Saturn but when the goverment gave him sipulations on how he was going to operate he backed out of the deal, so now how many jobs were lost because of interference.
Several of my custermers have bought Fords because they said they wont buy a GM,( GOVERMENT MOTORS )!

I'm not dissing the product, just cannot justify $200 a year for something that I probably wont need. Most wrecks are not single car accidents in a remote area.......I think a cell phone is sufficient for my needs.Originally posted by chpthril View PostHow will AAA know you have had a wreck and are unable to call for help?

I really dont believe any of the big three are ran very well. GM would still be around if they did go bankrupt, they would have been broken up possible, but there would still be some sort of GM. In my opinion it would have been much better if that would have happened because only then they may have been able to help solve their problems with pay roll and dealing with the unions.WAKE ZONE

Well at least two of them.Originally posted by highrock View PostI really dont believe any of the big three are ran very well.
Google Alan Mulally and you will understand why Ford is now and has been running on all cylinders.
If GM or Fiat(chrysler) had this type of CEO they wouldnt be in this mess.
All that Alan Mulally touches becomes gold. Not only is he an extremely talented engineer but also a savy buisnessman. That is a rare package.
Thank you Boeing for your misuse of his talents.Bad decisions make good stories.

). This year I bought a Ford product (Lincoln Navigator L) because I personally have an issue buying from GM after the bailout. They are owned by the government and the UAW...it makes no sense.
