The Tigé ride on sheltered water will be ok, maybe a tad bit harsh but ok. Glass will be phenomenal, sounds like it's turbo-charges at speed with the water rushing past the hull! Add a bit of rough though and you'll be hatin' life a bit, you'll definately feel it! Depending on what model and year Nautique your referring to depends on what i'd recommend. The Nautique 2001's are awesome ski boats that throw a decent wake as well. A Nautique 196 isn't bad either with a deeper V than the Tigé. All Nautiques are a deeper V than the Tigé however.

All flat bottom ski boats ride bad in ruff water.Its the payoff for such a clean wake.Adding weight seems to help the most but just going slow its not so bad.A freind of mine brings his slalom boat out every weekend and we skate and ski then tie it up to go boarding on my boat.If we are changing spots he drives in my wash to get a smoother ride.

It's appreciated. The nautique is a 1990 (replaced the 2001). l'll check them over today and arrange a trial on my local lake. Will let you know if I go the way of the Tige! I will say, the 1993 Tige has definately stood the test of time well - well done Tige boats!

In a direct comparison of rough water ride between the Tige and the Nautique, the Tige sould win hands down. I've done this test myself between two 21' Nautiqes and my 22' Tige. Anybody who's been to Lake Almanor can verify the conditions that can arise in the afternoon there, especially on the far east side of the lake. It can get downright ugly. 3' wind blown chop from hell. I've been out in all three boats in that crap and my Tige does 10x better. Not that the Nautweeks are bad boats by any means but, when the going gets tough, I'll take a Tige any day.

Hi all.

Thanks for all the comments and well, after looking around and carefully considering hull design and my skiing play area's I've decided to go for the Tige . The boat makes sense, with TAPs and the Mercruiser 5.7 SKI (Better backup for Mercs in the UK than PCM etc). The Test drive is booked in for a weeks time to give it a good shake down (I'll arrange to have some boat wakes on the lake to test the rough ride!!). Will let you know how it goes!!

The one thing Tige has on most other makes is the build. This was the reason I wanted a Tige in the first place. While the majors of the day we're focusing on wake performance, Tige was busy building tanks. The lay up for Tiges was basically the same as offshore power boats while the others, in comparison, were paper thin. I wanted a boat built for abuse and that was what I found in Tige. I started with Centurion, MC, MB, Sanger, Supra and Nautique and finally stumbled onto Tige. I started to look into the build process of the Tige and found exactly what I was looking for, a boat that could handle the abuse of 3' to 4' Tahoe or Pyramid on a really bad day. When the chit hits the fan, I want a tank. So I bought a Tige.

On to the ride. If it's knocking your fillings out, slow down. Flat bottoms are going to beat you up if you keep bouncing off the top of the waves with the flat part of the hull. It ain't rocket science. If you slow down a bit and use the front section of the hull by cranking the taps down to 1, you'll go through waves instead of bouncing off the top of them. It never ceases to amaze me how many people just hammer down across whatever and then blame the boat for a crappy ride. Know your boats limitations.

I want to thank everyone for their comments. I am still not sure about the boat. I think 14900 is a little high, but it is a very clean boat. I would love to have a newer boat but it is just not feesable right now. Again, thanks everyone!

By the way, I found out the boat is a 1998 PRE 2002 WT.

check out ebay, 99 2100 with tower, 500+ hours,trailer. I know the boat and the shop that performed all maintenance. last time I looked yesterday was no bids and a start at 16,500. I imagine it could be bought for less all things considered. just n FYI

FWIW: I think that the price is high too. If that proce included the tower, a killer stereo system and all the fixing a boat needs (safety and at least some recreational equipment) day one, it might be on par.

they are a BU dealer on Table Rock and it was a soft year, market I am sure will drive price down if they want to get it off their floor plan
